TOPEKA, Kan. – Capitol Federal® Topeka employees held an employee fundraising campaign for the Helping Hands Humane Society.  Through a variety of fun activities, including raffle drawings, chili-feed, jeans day and a very popular ‘What’s in the Box’ game, employees raised funds to help animals in need.

“All animals deserve to be loved and respected,” said CapFed® Reg E. Resolution Manager Jessica Haid.  She, along with other employees, spearheaded the fundraising campaign.  “Our True Blue® employees stepped up to help HHHS with their time, energy and dollars.  By learning more about all the programs and outreach the Humane Society does for the Topeka community, CapFed employees generously gave to support this worthy cause.”

With a matching grant from the Capitol Federal Foundation®, employees raised more than $10,800 and donated it to the Helping Hands Humane Society at a check presentation inside the shelter.

“Helping Hands is incredibly grateful for the support from Capitol Federal’s employees and Foundation,” said Justin Brokar, Director of Community Engagement and Development for the Helping Hands Humane Society.  “This gift will help us care for the hundreds of homeless pets in our shelter at any given time.”

Every year, CapFed employees choose and fundraise for three non-profit organizations and the United Way.
